  Canyon Lake

Canyon lake is located just a short distance from Austin, about 16 miles Northwest of New Braunfels on the Guadalupe river. With an abundance of Largemouth and Smallmouth bass, this beautiful 8,240 acre lake is an excellent fishery. The maximum depth of Canyon Lake is 132 feet and the structure is similar to Lake Travis.

With the typical highland lake structures, Canyon Lake has very little vegetation. The primary structure at the lake includes marinas, docks, flooded timber and steep, rocky banks. The water level varies on Canyon Lake. When water level rises, flooded vegetation is the best area to target. Bass fishing is best on Canyon during the Spring and Fall, but quality bass can also be caught during the winter.
